Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike
by Christopher Durang
The Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater and Valley Players present Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang for three performances on February 1, 2 and 3 at 7pm at the Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater in Yountville. The troupe then takes the show to Vallejo for three performances on February 9 and 10 at 7pm and February 11 at 2 pm at the Mira Theatre.
Winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play, Durang’s comedy of middle-aged siblings, Vanya and Sonia, takes off when their movie-star sister, Masha, swoops in with her new boy toy, Spike. Add the spice of sassy maid Cassandra, who can predict the future, and Nina, the ingénue next door and you’ve got a show that’s ‘deliriously funny’ (The New York Times) and ‘a ton of fun even if you can’t tell your Seagull from your Uncle Vanya’ (The New York Post.)
